Govt forms high-level committee to address Diamer Bhasha Dam affectees concerns

The Government of Pakistan has constituted a high-level committee to address the concerns and grievances of those affected by the Diamer Bhasha Dam project. The committee, formed under the directive of the Prime Minister, aims to assess the demands of the displaced communities and propose viable solutions.
According to an official notification issued by the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan & SAFRON, the committee will be chaired by the Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan & SAFRON, with the Minister for Water Resources serving as co-chairman. Other members include the Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan, the Secretary of KA, GB & SAFRON, the Chairman of WAPDA, and the Chief Secretary of Gilgit-Baltistan. The notification also states that additional members may be co-opted as required.
The Ministry of Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan & SAFRON will provide secretariat support to the committee, facilitating its operations and ensuring coordination among stakeholders.
